Abstract
Telemedicine has emerged as a transformative
approach to healthcare delivery, especially in regions with limited access to
medical facilities. This study analyzes the key drivers and challenges
influencing the adoption of telemedicine in Haryana, a rapidly developing state
in India. The research identifies factors such as technological advancements,
government initiatives, increasing digital literacy, and the need for
accessible healthcare as primary drivers encouraging telemedicine uptake.
Conversely, challenges such as infrastructural limitations, lack of awareness,
privacy concerns, and resistance from traditional healthcare practitioners
hinder widespread adoption. Through qualitative and quantitative data collected
from healthcare providers, patients, and policymakers, this study provides a
comprehensive understanding of the telemedicine landscape in Haryana. The
findings highlight the critical role of policy support and infrastructure
development in overcoming barriers and suggest strategic recommendations to
enhance telemedicine penetration. This analysis contributes valuable insights for
stakeholders aiming to leverage telemedicine for improving healthcare
accessibility and quality in Haryana and similar regions.
